concatenate UDF's to create uniform item description format

Hello Experts!

Duplicated items are giving us a headache. We'd like to set a uniform item description. Since we can't control how the user encodes the description, despite the numerous times we've informed him, we came up witht this idea: create UDF's in the Item Master Data where user can encode the ff: size, color & description. Then we want to create a formatted search in the description field of the item master data, that will concatenate the details encoded in the 3 udf's. I would like to ask for your help on the script required for our FMS.. Please..
